Revised my Website and other News!

Life has been hectic, as usual. We returned from the World Appaloosa Horse Show in Fort Worth, Texas, last weekend. We had a great time in Texas and learned a lot. Fort Worth is a lovely city and has a lot to offer. I’m already looking forward to going back again next year.

The Dragon Princess, which is the sixth book in the tales of the Frog Princess, came out while we were in Texas. It was a lot of fun to write and I hope you think it’s as much fun to read.

Now that I have time to concentrate on my writing again, I’m really excited about my next projects. I have finished the first two drafts of the seventh book in the Frog Princess series. My editor has the manuscript now, but I expect to get it back for further revisions one more time before it goes to the copy editor. I’d tell you the title, but I learned my lesson with earlier books. All too often, the title I start with is not the final title and it gets confusing if I mention the name of the book and it’s changed before the book comes out. Let’s just say that the book is about a character we meet at the end of The Dragon Princess and that ‘Dragon’ will be part of the title.

I am also working on another book, but this one is not part of a series. It is a fairy tale like The Frog Princess and I’m having a wonderful time with it.

For those of you who have read Wings and are wondering if there will be another book about Jak and Tamisin, the answer is yes. I intend to write a trilogy about them with Wings being the first in the series.

After I finish the book I am writing now, I intend to write at least one more book for the Tales of The Frog Princess. It will begin a few months after book seven ends. For those of you who have already read The Dragon Princess, you know that it is about Emma and Eadric’s daughter, which means that I have skipped over quite a few years. A number of readers have written to me asking what happened to Emma and Eadric after they got married in No Place For Magic. Because I didn’t address this question in the newer books as fully as I might have liked, I have decided to tell you their story in a different way. Later this week I plan to launch the Greater Greensward Gazette. It will be a bulletin published twice a month on my website talesofedbaker.com. The Gazette will tell of the events taking place in Greater Greensward and will be written by contributing authors like Emma, Grassina, the stable master, and various subjects living in Greater Greensward. I’m very excited about the Gazette.

In addition to including the Gazette, I am also revising my website in other ways. Look for a new ‘Deleted Chapter’, a page of writers’ tips that I will be adding to periodically, and a new contest. I have also posted a message board so I can talk to my readers and answer their questions as they come up. The rules of the message board are posted on the first page.

This winter promises to be a busy one for me and for Greater Greensward. I hope you’ll visit the revised website and see what it has to offer.
